Performance Investigation of a Ground-Coupled Warehouse Cooling System with an Underground Thermal Energy Storage Tank.

Thermal performance parameters for a ground-coupled warehouse cooling system with an underground Energy Storage (TES) tank are investigated in this study. The comprises warehouse, unit, and TES tank. A MATLAB program was created to evaluate the system's on hourly basis, considering various design operational conditions. To solve heat transfer surrounding tank, similarity transformation Duhamel's superposition principle employed. results indicate that volume of type earth it critical factors affecting performance. Among tested materials (granite, limestone, clay types), granite exhibits highest also reveal water temperature reaches maximum 25.33 °C July, significantly below ambient air 45.67 °C, resulting higher COP 3.42. This is achieved 600 m3, Carnot efficiency 40%, using as type. Moreover, demonstrates periodic operation starting from 9th year onwards, continuing 15 years operation. These improvements lead significant energy savings reduced environmental effects.
